IntroductionThe information contained in this paper is extracted from the Graduate Employment Survey of 1997 to answer the following questions about M.L.A. graduates : -
II. Employment Situation in 1997
Out of 9 M.L.A. graduates, 9 responded to our survey, representing a response rate of 100%. All the graduates were in full-time employment within six months of graduation. Nil unemployment was reported. (Table 1)

III. Time Taken to Secure Employment
Among those graduates who were in full-time employment, 78% secured their first job offer before the end of August. The percentage increased to 100% by the end of November. (Figure 1)
IV. Employment Sectors
All the M.L.A graduates were employed in commerce and industry. (Figure 2)
V. Basic Salary and Gross Income
The remuneration received by the 1997 M.L.A. graduates is shown in Table 2.

VI. Number of Full-Time Job Offers
Of those in full-time employment, 67% of the graduates had more than one job offer. 56% reported having received three to eight or more job offers. On average, each graduate received 2.9 job offers. (Figure 3)
