IntroductionThe information contained in this paper is extracted from the Graduate Employment Survey of 1997 to answer the following questions about M.Econ. graduates : -
II. Employment Situation in 1997
Out of 6 M.Econ. graduates, 5 responded to our survey, representing a response rate of 83%. All the graduates were in full-time employment within six months of graduation. Nil unemployment was reported. (Table 1)

III. Time Taken to Secure Employment
Among those graduates who were in full-time employment, 80% secured their first job offer before the end of July. The percentage increased to 100% by the end of September. (Figure 1)
IV. Employment Sectors
60% (or 3 graduates) of the M.Econ. graduates were employed in commerce and industry. 20% (or 1 graduate) each joined the civil service and the education sector. (Figures 2 & 3)
V. Basic Salary and Gross Income
The remuneration received by the 1997 M.Econ. graduates is shown in Table 2.

VI. Number of Full-Time Job Offers
Of those in full-time employment, 60% of the graduates had more than one job offer. 40% reported having received four job offers. On average, each graduate received 2.4 job offers. (Figure 4)
