Where did the 1996 M.Arch. graduates go?

I. Introduction

The information contained in this paper is extracted from the Graduate Employment Survey of 1996 to answer the following questions about M.Arch. graduates : -

II. Employment Situation in 1996

Out of 52 M.Arch. graduates, 26 responded to our survey, representing a response rate of 50%. Of these, 89% were in full-time employment within six months of graduation. 7.7% (or 2 graduates) went on for further studies. The remaining 1 graduate (3.8%) was still looking for full-time employment at the time of the survey in December 1996 (Table 1).

III. Further Studies

Table 2 shows the programme of study pursued by the graduate who took up further studies, and Table 3 shows the source of finance.

IV. Time Taken to Secure Employment

All the graduates were able to secure employment before the end of September 1996.

VI. Basic Salary and Gross Income

The remuneration received by 1996 M.Arch. graduates is shown in Table 4.
