What advice do you have for job-seekers?
- Prepare
early - Way before his final year at university, Daniel started
to surf the net for information about large international companies
and market leaders
- Participate
in extra-curricular activities and internships - Having a feel of
the world of work, he was mindful to develop himself in an interesting
and unique manner through his studies and extra-curricular activities,
as well as summer internships in different companies
- Be
an interesting person - His experience and achievements in various
endeavours enabled him to have something interesting to say about himself
at selection exercises. He presented his subject in an interesting and
unusual manner that made him stand out from other run-of-the-mill performances
at the HSBC presentation exercise.
What other advice do you have for current students or
new graduates?
- Get
your hands 'dirty' - take great care to produce excellent work even
with seemingly trivial assignments
- Ask
for more - when your own duties are
well under control, approach your supervisor for more assignments
- Ask
questions - ask questions whenever
you are in doubt
- Improve
your own performance - improve your
performance through practice and observation

are welcome. Send a note to <cepc@cepc.hku.hk>.
